Physical Cards
This section provides details of configuration, security and printing options for your physical cards.
Physical Card Customisation
Thredd supports full customisation of your physical cards, including the card dimensions, weight and the material used in their design. You can supply your own artwork, such as the colours and brand logos, and any text to be printed on the card. If your programme has multiple card products with different designs, you can have separate card artwork for each card product.
For more information, see the Physical Cards Guide > Physical Card Customisation.
Card Fields and Card Personalisation
A typical card contains dynamic fields which are printed on demand. These fields are personalised to each card record and are printed or embossed onto the card based on the card record details supplied. The locations of fields, and whether they appear on the front or the back of the card, may vary depending on your card design. For more information, see the Physical Cards Guide > Physical Card Customisation.

Working with Card Manufacturers
The production of physical (printed) cards requires the services of a card manufacturer (card bureau). If your card programme requires the printing of physical cards, you can use one of our many pre-integrated card manufacturers in the region where you are issuing cards. You will need to sign a commercial agreement with the card manufacturer. See Selecting a Card Manufacturer.
Creating White Test Plastics
White test plastics are generic, non-branded cards with test keys on the card and a Chip Profile. White test plastics are produced as a part of Pavement testing End-to-end testing of the cardholder journey using real cards that have been issued, which takes place before a service is rolled-out to customers. prior to your service going live. Your Implementation Manager will work with your card manufacturer to produce test cards. For more information, see the Physical Cards Guide > Card Production and Testing.
